Why Podcasting?

Updated: Nov 3, 2020

Guys. Let's face it. As a mom of 4 little babes, I hardly have time to myself FOR myself. Sure, some people like to take showers when they have 30 minutes at the end of the day.

Some mom's like to clean their house at the end of the day - bless their hearts ;-)

Some like to craft, create new and beautiful things for their home or their children; and some moms like to open a bottle of wine and get on their phone to connect with friends.

Well, I don't do any of that. Not anymore, I mean. I very rarely use my nighttime to clean anything, let alone my body - and by the time all of my children are asleep and fed, it's generally too late to call up a friend and just talk in their ear for an hour about whatever I'm feeling or thinking.

And THAT my friend is why podcasting is amazing for me. I love that I get a chance to create something that someone else out there, somewhere in the world, connects with. I love that I get to share my story in the hopes of encouraging ANYONE out there, because that in turn encourages ME.

I love to talk, and performed on stage in theater productions when I was younger - I love the center of attention (when it's for good things, of course) - and I love to make people feel good. Whether I can crack them up, or let them feel less lonely, or remind them that there really is a God who loves them and cares for them - I want to to do it.

As long as listeners are giving me feedback that they liked what I had to say, or were encouraged by my words, or tell me that I have a great voice for podcasting, or that I could make anyone feel comfortable - I'm gonna do it! (I mean, I hope so. If 2020 has taught us anything it's that we shouldn't really make plans and set them in stone haha).

Anywho - thanks for listening, or reading, or sharing, or coming here. Wherever you are in the world, I am happy that you landed in our little "nest". And I Hope you leave feeling just a BIT better, or more hopeful, or more loved then when you came.

Thanks friend! I'll talk to you later!

-Shannon-
